First visit?

The bedroom operates under a different logic than the rest of the house: it's not about the number of pieces, but the space around the bed and how easily you can create a calming atmosphere in the evening. Therefore, planning should start with the layout, not the style.
The bed is usually placed with the headboard against the wall, opposite the door, or at an angle to it. The key measurement is 60–70 cm of free space on each side for easy access – with less space, making the bed and cleaning become cumbersome.
The most commonly chosen size is 160×200 cm. Consider the 180 cm version only if there is still enough space for pathways after placing it. Pair the bed with a suitable mattress based on weight and a headboard – wider than the bed by 10–20 cm on each side to visually enhance the piece.
On either side of the bed, nightstands should be placed – ideally, their tops should be at mattress height or a few centimeters higher. A chest of drawers can hold folded clothes, while hanging clothes require a wardrobe with a minimum depth of 55–60 cm, necessary for clothes to hang parallel to the front.
In a smaller bedroom, some items can be stored in a container under the bed, and containers will help keep shelves organized.
In the bedroom, three independent light sources work best. A ceiling lamp provides general lighting, wall sconces on either side of the bed offer reading light without taking up surface space, and a table lamp sets the mood.
Choose a warm color temperature of 2700–3000 K – neutral and cool tones make it harder to unwind before sleep. A dimmer switch makes a bigger difference than the choice of lamp itself.
A rug extending 60–80 cm from the bed on three sides warms the floor and dampens footsteps. Additionally, bedding, a fitted sheet that matches the mattress height, and a bedspread that covers the bed during the day are essential.
Add character with decorative pillows – usually two or three, placed in front of the bedding.
The wall behind the bed is the only one you won't see while lying down – so you can afford a bolder accent: a wallpaper, a graphic, or a wall decoration. Complete the look with a mirror and scented candles with a subtle fragrance.
The bedroom best accommodates calm styles: Scandinavian, Japandi, and boho. Bolder solutions – glamour – should be limited to one element, such as a headboard or lighting.
A minimum of 60–70 cm on each side for easy access. This is enough to walk freely and make the bed.
Warm light, 2700–3000 K, ideally from three independent sources: general, reading, and ambient.
Start with positioning the bed and checking the pathways. Only then should you choose nightstands, storage, and decorations.
