It's advisable to position them 60–80 cm away from the wall. If they are meant to illuminate a countertop or artwork, place them closer to the wall and angle them – vertically directed light creates harsh shadows.
Track or Individual?
A track system allows you to move and add fixtures without altering the installation – it's a flexible solution for a home office or open space. It requires a single power point.
Individual surface-mounted spotlights appear more discreet, but each needs its own wiring – placement must be planned before finishing the ceiling.

Power and Color Temperature
For work areas, choose a neutral color temperature of around 4000 K, and for the living room, a warm 2700–3000 K. Also, check the beam angle: a narrow 24–36 degrees creates a distinct spot, while a wide 60 degrees provides more even illumination.
