Furniture for the Hallway
The hallway is the first and last room you see every day – and usually the narrowest in the entire apartment. Therefore, it follows one rule: leave a minimum of 80 cm of free passage, and adjust everything else to what remains.
What Needs to Fit
The basic set includes space for outerwear, a surface for small items, a mirror, and a place to sit while putting on shoes. In a narrow corridor, it won't all fit in full size – choices must be made.
A wall-mounted coat rack takes up no floor space; hooks are installed at a height of 160–175 cm, and in a home with children, it's worth adding a second row at 100–120 cm.
Console Instead of a Chest of Drawers
A console with a depth of up to 30 cm provides a surface for keys and a lamp without narrowing the passage. If there is more space, a shallow chest of drawers will work – just remember to allow space for the full extension of the drawer.
On the surface, a tray for keys and a container for small items will suffice – this is the simplest way to keep things from spreading throughout the apartment.
A Mirror – An Essential Element
A mirror visually widens the hallway and allows you to check your outfit before heading out. The greatest effect is achieved by hanging it perpendicular to the light source, rather than opposite. Above the console, a gap of 15–25 cm from the surface is sufficient. Dedicated models can be found in the collection of hallway mirrors.
Seating and Shoes
A bench with a height of 45–50 cm and a depth of 35–40 cm does not block the passage, and models with storage can hold shoes used daily. An alternative for one person is a puff or a low stool.
Lighting
Hallways rarely have windows, so lighting is more important here than anywhere else. With a low ceiling, choose a ceiling light from the collection of ceiling lamps, and add wall sconces near the mirror – side lighting does not cast shadows on the face.

Complete the look with a rug with short, dense fibers – easier to vacuum – and a umbrella stand with a sealed water insert. On the wall, graphics or wallpaper on one plane will work well.
