Carpet care

Comfort and aesthetics for years to come

A carpet is one of the elements of an interior that creates atmosphere, enhances comfort, and gives the space a cozy character. Whether made of wool, cotton, viscose, silk, or modern synthetic fibers, proper care allows it to maintain its appearance, softness, and durability for many years.

Each carpet has its own properties based on the type of fiber used and the technique of production. Natural materials stand out with their unique texture and noble appearance, while synthetic fibers offer high resistance to everyday use. Regardless of the type of material, regular maintenance is the best way to preserve aesthetics and comfort of use.

In the first weeks of use, especially with wool carpets, slight shedding may occur. This is a natural process resulting from the release of loose fibers and does not indicate a defect in the product.

Regular vacuuming

Systematic vacuuming is the most important element of caring for any carpet. It helps remove dust, sand, and small debris that can gradually damage the fiber structure.

Regularly vacuum the carpet using the appropriate attachment for the type of pile. For carpets with long fibers and those made from delicate materials, it is advisable to avoid using a turbo brush, which may excessively pull out the fibers.

Newly purchased carpets should be vacuumed more frequently during the first weeks of use.

Remove stains as quickly as possible

Spilled liquids and fresh stains should be removed immediately.

Gently blot excess liquid with a paper towel or absorbent cloth, pressing it to the surface. Do not rub the stain, as this may cause it to penetrate deeper into the fibers and enlarge the stain.

For stain removal, use products intended for the specific type of fiber.

Choose appropriate cleaning agents

For regular maintenance, use only products designed for carpets.

Always test a new product in an inconspicuous area before use.

For carpets made of wool, silk, or viscose, choose products dedicated to delicate fibers.

Do not allow excessive soaking of the carpet during cleaning.

What to avoid?

Do not use:

  • bleaches,
  • chlorine,
  • solvents,
  • strong detergents,
  • high or low pH cleaners,
  • steam cleaners, if not recommended by the manufacturer,
  • brushes with stiff bristles.

They can damage the structure of the fibers, cause discoloration, or deform the pile.

Protect the rug from deformation

Heavy furniture can cause permanent indentations in the fibers.

If possible, occasionally change the arrangement of furniture or gently lift the fibers with a soft-bristled brush to restore their natural appearance.

It is also advisable to periodically rotate the rug 180° to evenly distribute wear and reduce uneven wear and fading.

Limit sun exposure

Prolonged exposure to sunlight can lead to gradual fading of colors.

If the rug is in a heavily sunlit area, it is advisable to use blinds, curtains, or regularly rotate it to ensure the surface ages evenly.

Natural fibers are particularly sensitive to intense UV radiation.

Professional cleaning

Every few years, it is worth having the rug professionally cleaned.

The right method allows for the removal of dirt deep within the fibers, refreshes the color, and extends the lifespan of the material without the risk of damage.

For rugs made of silk, viscose, or handwoven materials, always use the services of specialists with experience in caring for these types of materials.

Care for different types of rugs

Wool rugs

Wool is a durable, resilient material that is naturally resistant to dirt. During the initial period of use, it may shed slightly, which is a completely natural phenomenon.

Viscose rugs

Viscose is characterized by a subtle sheen and softness, but it is more sensitive to moisture and intense friction. It requires particularly careful maintenance.

Silk rugs

Silk is one of the most delicate fibers. It is recommended to use only very careful cleaning and professional maintenance.

Synthetic rugs

Modern synthetic fibers are resistant to wear and easy to maintain on a daily basis. Regular vacuuming and quick stain removal help preserve their aesthetic appearance for a long time.

Longevity begins with proper care

Regular vacuuming, prompt stain removal, and the use of appropriate cleaning methods help keep the rug looking beautiful for many years.

Natural changes resulting from daily use are part of the character of this material. Proper care helps maintain its softness, color, and texture, ensuring that the rug remains not only a functional element of decor but also a timeless adornment for the interior.
