Regular brushing removes dust, lifts the pile, and reduces the appearance of wear. Once or twice a year, the fabric can be refreshed with a solution of lukewarm water and neutral detergent, such as dish soap. Then, the surface should be wiped with a clean, damp sponge or cloth to remove detergent residues and left to dry naturally. A special fabric upholstery cleaner in the form of foam, shampoo, or spray can also be used, following the manufacturer's instructions. In case of liquid spills, gently blot with a dry cloth or paper towel. Residues of mud, ketchup, mayonnaise, yogurt, or lipstick should be carefully scraped off the surface. Before wet cleaning, the material should be gently vacuumed. For stain removal, dish soap or gray soap mixed with lukewarm water in a ratio of one teaspoon of detergent to two cups of water can be used. The solution should be applied in thin layers, removing excess as you go. Clean the stain slowly, using circular motions from the outer edge towards the center, without vigorous rubbing. The cleaned area should be thoroughly wiped with a clean, damp cloth to remove detergent and prevent streaks. Avoid using strong cleaners, bleach, or hot water. Before using any cleaning agent, test it on an inconspicuous part of the furniture and wait 15 minutes. After cleaning, allow the upholstery to dry at room temperature, without using a hairdryer or other direct heat sources.
